As soon as I spotted the Fuschia flower in Matt and Lara’s garden I knew I had to create.
I’d never seen anything like it - the shape, the clashing of colour, the absolute beauty - it screamed race wear and create I did.
Referred to as my masterpiece of the collection, Fuschia Mol is hand constructed using buckram, shaped and bound with wire to create the petal shape.
The flower is created using silk abaca and stamens that I painted and individually placed.
This labour of love is dedicated to my brother and his family and in particular to their late Molly dog - Lara’s Kimberley dog who made home in the central west of NSW, when they did; her resting place now.
I love my family and this creation fills me with emotion, happiness and joy.
