Inspired by the resilient Bauhinia tree of the Kimberley, this feather headpiece captures the elegance of it's curling seed pods and delicate flowers. As the pods twist and drift in the breeze, they create gentle arcs, echoed in the biot feather loops of the headpiece.
Even the leaves, which turn away from each other (giving the tree it's local Kimberley name of Jigal) inspire Bauhinia Drift's quiet balance of strength and softness.
Created from crinoline and feathers on a silk-covered slip comb, Bauhinia Drift truly is as light as a feather.
